Ovulation tests that react to LH hormone are usually done a few days before ovulation. The best time to start Ovulation test is:
1. Menstrual cycle is 28 days.
2. If the ovulation to menstruation phase (luteal phase) is stable and lasts up to 10–16 days.
3. Begin the test three days before ovulation.
For a 28-day cycle, three days before ovulation will be the 11th day of your menstrual cycle. To do so, start the Ovulation test at the end of your menstrual cycle (day 28 and the end of luteal phase) and work backward towards the start. The first day of your cycle is the first day of your most recent period.
To start the ovulation test, women must be free from irregular periods, which makes the ovulation test process a bit more complicated. For an irregular cycle, the best option is, prefer the shortest cycle in the last six months to start the ovulation test. The calculations for an irregular cycle are typically the same as with a standard cycle.
The main reason not to start your ovulation with irregular cycles is that it is usually a sign that you may experience ovulatory cycles when there is no ovulation at all. If you did not detect ovulation for several cycles in a row, shycart advises you to contact a doctor.
