HSV is an acronym for Herpes Simplex Virus. It is a virus that causes Herpes in men and women. Even though herpes infection has no irrefutable spot to infect, it is most commonly found in genitals and mouth which is commonly known as Genital Herpes. Nonetheless, the Herpes infection is classified into two types

HSV Test

The first and foremost test for HSV is physical examination. Usually, Herpes is detected by the sore spots on the body. If the sore spots are visible on the skin, then the doctor will confirm that a person is infected by the Herpes Virus. If the doctor is uncertain about the infection or the sore spots are not visible on the skin, the herpes is tested by the HSV Blood test. The HSV blood test will analyse the blood of the infected person for the presence of HSV antibodies produced in the blood in response to HSV virus.

There is one more test to diagnose the HSV - Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. PCR test will analyse the DNA in the blood of the infected person and look for the HSV virus.
